Watford are reportedly close to securing the services of Fiorentina midfielder Mario Suarez.
The Spanish midfielder switched from Atletico Madrid to La Viola during the summer, but he has been unable to hold down a regular place in the starting lineup in Florence.
As a result, it is believed that Fiorentina are prepared to part with the 28-year-old for the right price.
According to the Watford Observer, while a number of Premier League clubs are keen, it is the Hornets that lead the race for Suarez's signature.
One advantage could be the fact that Watford head coach Quique Flores worked with Suarez during his stint in charge of Atletico.
The three-capped Spain international was a member of the Atletico squad that won the La Liga title in 2014.
