Real Betis are reportedly keen to sign Fiorentina striker Giuseppe Rossi during the January transfer window.
The Italy international had a previous six-year spell in La Liga with Villarreal, for whom he scored 82 goals in 192 outings.
He switched to Florence in 2013, but his stint in Serie A has been hampered by injuries.
However, that has not put off Betis sporting director Macia, who is keen to bolster the team's attacking options, according to AS.
The report adds that Rossi may also be keen to make the move to secure his place in the Italian squad for Euro 2016.
