"Very important" win pleases Watford's Almen Abdi

Almen Abdi admits that it was vital that Watford overcome Rotherham United at Vicarage Road last night.

Watford midfielder Almen Abdi has stressed the importance of his side's 3-0 win over Rotherham United last night.

The Hornets went into the clash at Vicarage Road on the back of a home defeat by the same scoreline at the hands of fellow promotion candidates Norwich City.

However, they responded positively against the Millers - something that pleased the Swiss international.

"After the defeat on Saturday it was very important for us to win today at home," the 28-year-old told the club's official website.

"I think we played well, we won 3-0 at home and it could have been more. I could have scored a goal, but the most important thing is the three points."

On Saturday, Watford will travel to Elland Road for a clash against Leeds United.
