Marco Silva is unhappy with the "details" of Watford's mistakes and bad luck as they fell to a 3-2 defeat at Everton on Sunday afternoon.

Marco Silva has bemoaned Watford's mistakes and bad luck as they fell to a 3-2 defeat at Everton on Sunday afternoon.

The Hornets were on course for victory after Richarlison and Christian Kabasele edged them into a two-goal lead.

However, the Toffees struck back through Oumar Niasse, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Leighton Baines, the latter converting a 91st-minute penalty.

Watford, who had to take off Heurelho Gomes due to a head injury, had a chance to draw level through a spot kick of their own, but Tom Cleverley scuffed his shot wide to leave Goodison Park empty-handed.

"We were comfortable at 2-0. I didn't remember a period of 10 minutes when they had big pressure. The details made the difference," the Portuguese told reporters.

"We made one mistakes and they began to believe. Our player slipped for the penalty, that's very unlucky.

"Gomes has had a bad cut. It's never easy to change the goalkeeper during the match. Everything happened today. I hope in the next few days he will be able to come back to training."

The result sees Watford end matchday 11 ninth in the Premier League table.
