Luca Toni extends Hellas Verona contract

Veteran striker Luca Toni agrees to a one-year contract extension that will keep him at Hellas Verona until June 2016.

Hellas Verona striker Luca Toni has penned a new one-year deal with the Italian club.

The 38-year-old has enjoyed a successful two years at the club and he finished last season as the joint top scorer in Serie A with 22 goals.

"I'm thrilled to continue this great adventure in Gialloblu," Football Italia quotes him as saying. "This is the right choice for me and my family.

"I give special thanks to the president (Maurizio Setti), the club and the fans. As long as I'm feeling this way, I'll keep playing football. I really can't wait to get the new season underway."

Toni has scored 44 goals in the past two seasons for Verona.
