Gary Neville: 'My job is not under threat'

Valencia boss Gary Neville insists that he will remain at the Mestalla even if his team lose what has been branded a must-win game against Espanyol on Saturday.

Valencia boss Gary Neville has played down suggestions that he will be relieved of his duties at the Mestalla if Los Che do not beat Espanyol in La Liga this weekend.

Neville is still waiting for his first league win in the Valencia hotseat and it has been claimed that the board would seek a replacement if another defeat occurred against struggling Espanyol on Saturday.

However, the former Manchester United defender has insisted that his future will not depend on this weekend's result.

"For me, there are still games left, regardless of whether we win, lose or draw. We're only focusing on the game. Before Barca, you were very respectful. I'm just thinking of football and only that. It is very important for the club," Neville told reporters.

"There may be a hurricane, but we have to be in the midst of it. We've never panicked. The players aren't behaving strangely. We believe in ourselves. [Our luck] is going to change.

It can't be that we'll always have such bad luck in front of goal. We have to win and that's what we're focusing on. It feels like a final for the fans, but for me there are still games left."

Valencia will enter the match off the back of a 1-1 draw with Barcelona in the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final on Wednesday. It was Barcelona that advanced to the final, however, courtesy of an 8-1 aggregate win.
