Nuno "convinced" Valencia will improve

Valencia manager Nuno remains confident that his team will overcome their disappointing start to the new La Liga season.

Valencia boss Nuno has insisted that his team will overcome what has been a disappointing start to the new La Liga season.

Los Che have only won one of their first four league games this term and were held to a 0-0 draw by 10-man Real Betis at the weekend.

Only two goals have been scored in their four matches, but Nuno, who is under pressure from the club's supporters, is confident that the team's ability "will translate into goals".

"When the owner comes to Valencia, we always talk about the important issues at the club. Our goal is to improve, we realise that a long journey awaits to achieve the objectives we have set for this year. We are in this together and we will achieve them together," Nuno told the club's official website.

"Our attacking production is not being effective, nor reflected in the amount of goals we score. We will look for other solutions for our offensive play.

"We have to look at the players we have on the pitch and enhance their characteristics. I am convinced that our ability will translate into goals."

Valencia, who next face Espanyol on Tuesday, finished fourth in La Liga last season, just one point behind the then defending champions Atletico Madrid.
