Alaves vs. Real Betis (Sunday, 1.00pm)

Alaves and Real Betis face off at Estadio de Mendizorroza on Sunday afternoon in their opening La Liga match of the 2020-21 campaign.

Both sides narrowly avoided relegation last season and will be looking for a vast improvement this time around.

We say: Alaves 1-2 Real Betis

Betis enjoyed a positive pre-season campaign and look rejuvenated following the arrival of Pellegrini. The visitors have won just one of their last five games at Mendizorroza, but we are backing them to take all three points this weekend.

Real Valladolid vs. Real Sociedad (Sunday, 3.00pm)

Real Sociedad get the 2020-21 La Liga campaign underway on Sunday afternoon with a trip to Estadio Jose Zorrilla to face Real Valladolid.

While the visitors finished in sixth place in last season's standings, their hosts claimed 13th position, six points above the relegation zone.

We say: Real Valladolid 1-2 Real Sociedad

With Sociedad having to adapt to life without Odegaard, this game could be closer than many may have initially anticipated. However, eager to hit back after a disappointing end to last season, we feel that Sociedad will edge out their hosts by the odd goal in three.

Villarreal vs. Huesca (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Villarreal begin life under recently-appointed boss Unai Emery with a home fixture against newcomers Huesca at Estadio de la Ceramica.

While Villarreal finished last season in fifth place in La Liga, Huesca battled their way to the league title in the Segunda Division.

We say: Villarreal 3-0 Huesca

Although Huesca will be motivated to make an impression on their return to the top flight, we feel that they could be overpowered by their hosts. Emery will be focused on claiming a top-four spot at the end of the season, and it would have been drilled into his squad that they must win games such as this one with minimal fuss.

Valencia vs. Levante (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Valencia take on Levante in a tasty local derby at the Mestalla on the opening weekend of the 2020-21 La Liga campaign.

Levante will be looking to pile the misery on their neighbours, who have been gutted this summer with the exits of a number of key men.

We say: Valencia 1-1 Levante

Valencia's squad is depleted and it looks like being a tough task breaking back into the top six.Local rivals Levante will be looking to take advantage of that, but Los Che are very tough to beat at home and we can see the points being shared in this Derby del Turia.
