The FIFA Appeal Committee have confirmed that they have rejected the appeals lodged by both Luis Suarez and the Uruguayan Football Association over the ban handed down to the player for his bite on Giorgio Chiellini.
A statement also said that the player's ban, which is four months from football-related activity as well as nine matches for Uruguay, would be upheld in full.
"The FIFA Appeal Committee has decided to reject the appeals lodged by both the Uruguayan player Luis Suarez and the Uruguayan FA, and to confirm the decision rendered by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee on June 25, 2014 in its entirety," the statement read.
"The terms of the decision taken by the FIFA Appeal Committee were communicated to the player and the Uruguayan FA today."
FIFA did confirm that both parties would still be able to appeal further to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
