Half-Time Report: Jamie Allen levels for Rochdale

Bottom club Torquay United are pegged back by a Jamie Allen strike after a good first-half showing against Rochdale in League Two.

Rochdale are on level terms with Torquay United at half time, after Jamie Allen cancelled out Krystian Pearce's opener in tonight's League Two encounter.

The bottom club have played well in the first half and will be disappointed to have conceded just before the break.

Torquay forced Josh Lillis into a couple of early saves thanks to efforts from Elliot Benyon and Shamir Goodwin, before finally taking the lead when Pearce nodded in Courtney Cameron's delivery.

Rochdale's best chance came after half an hour, but George Donnelly headed straight at the goalkeeper from six yards out.

Torquay continued to frustrate their opponents until the 39th minute, when Allen found space and fired the ball in from a tight angle just inside the box.

Moments late Enoch Showunmi struck the post for the hosts with a long-range effort but Rochdale were able to get in at half time all square.
