Sepp Blatter: 'Great Britain unlikely to compete in future Olympic Games'

Sepp Blatter reveals that it is unlikely that Great Britain will compete in future Olympics football tournaments.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has said that Great Britain are unlikely to compete in future Olympics, suggesting that the London Games team-up could be a one-off.

Captain Ryan Giggs recently declared that he hopes Team GB can compete in the future, but Blatter has revealed that the difficulties that have been encountered this time around make it unlikely.

"Everything is possible but this would need a different approach and you have seen the difficulties that they have already had to field a combined team here in London," BBC Sport quotes Blatter as saying.

"So for the football family, and especially the four associations and UEFA, I don't think it is likely to be done."

Team GB kick off their Olympics campaign tomorrow against Senegal.
