Mark Cooper departs Swindon Town

Swindon Town part company with manager Mark Cooper after a 2-0 defeat to Millwall leaves them without a win in eight games.

Swindon Town have announced that they have parted company with manager Mark Cooper.

The 46-year-old's departure was confirmed by the Robins following their 2-0 defeat to Millwall this afternoon.

It was the club's fourth successive defeat and leaves them 20th in the League One table and above the relegation zone on goal difference.

According to BBC Sport, Swindon chairman Lee Power will take over first-team affairs from Cooper on a temporary basis.

Cooper had been in charge of the club since August 2013 and led them to the playoff final last season, where they were beaten by Preston North End at Wembley.
