Alan Curtis: 'Swansea City impatient over transfers'

Swansea City coach Alan Curtis admits that the side are "impatient" to get transfer business done.

Swansea City coach Alan Curtis has admitted that his team are "impatient" to get transfer business completed before the new Premier League season begins in a fortnight.

The Welsh side are courting a number of transfer targets and are thought to have made enquiries for Leicester City's Leonardo Ulloa and Sevilla's Fernando Llorente as they seek to boost their attacking options.

The Swans had been hoping to sign Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen but he instead opted to switch to Stoke City, and Curtis believes that the lack of transfer activity is starting to have a negative effect on morale for his players and the Swansea fanbase.

"I suppose we are all a little impatient, I guess even more so as we didn't bring in Joe Allen," Curtis told the BBC. "I think there is a lot of frustration, with the supporters but also with the players and maybe the board themselves. We all know there is a need for us to bring people in now.

"There is two weeks to go now before the season starts and hopefully before the start of the season, of the players we are looking to bring in, someone will come through the door.

"We are aware of things going on, but not the details, that is with the chairman. It is time now to get a big signing in just to give everyone a big lift. It has been obvious to everyone and apparent that we need to strengthen up front."

Swansea have made just two signings thus far this summer, bringing in midfielder Leroy Fer on a permanent basis and also completing the capture of Dutch centre-back Mike van der Hoorn from Ajax.
