Sunderland hammered 4-0 by Swansea City

Sunderland are hammered 4-0 by Swansea City in Gus Poyet's first match in charge of the Black Cats.

Four second-half goals gave Swansea City a comfortable win over Sunderland in the Premier League this afternoon.

Phil Bardsley put through his own net after 57 minutes, before Jonathan de Guzman blasted home a long-range effort two minutes later.

Wilfried Bony added a third from the penalty spot before Chico Flores headed home a corner to confine new Sunderland manager Gustavo Poyet to a miserable Premier League managerial debut.

Bardsley, who had been recalled following the sacking of Paolo Di Canio, was unfortunate when De Guzman's corner hit him to open the scoring for the home side, before the Dutchman doubled his side's lead with a powerful effort from 25 yards.

The visitors capitulated following the first goal and Craig Gardner brought down Leon Britton inside the box, to give Bony the chance to score from the spot.

Defender Flores stooped low to head home a corner with 10 minutes left to leave the Black Cats rooted to the bottom Premier League table.
