Report: Swansea City not considering reappointing Brendan Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers is reportedly not in the running for the Swansea City vacancy following Garry Monk's sacking.

Brendan Rodgers is reportedly not a contender for the Swansea City job following Garry Monk's departure.

The Premier League club parted company with Monk this afternoon following a run of just one win in 11 top-flight games.

Monk spent 10 years playing for the Swans, but the Welsh outfit have opted for a change as the club are just one point above the relegation zone.

There were reports earlier this week that Rodgers would be approached should Monk be sacked, but according to Sky Sports News, their former boss is not on the shortlist.

Rodgers spent two years in charge of Swansea, and in that time guided the team to Premier League promotion before joining Liverpool in 2012.

The Irishman was sacked by the Merseyside outfit in October.
