Garry Monk: 'Swansea City are getting better'

Swansea City boss Garry Monk feels that his troops are slowly but surely recapturing their best form after holding in-form Spurs to a 2-2 draw.

Garry Monk has suggested that Sunday's 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur is a clear sign that his Swansea City side are slowly but surely getting back to their best.

City took the lead on two occasions at the Liberty Stadium, with a couple of free kicks from Christian Eriksen cancelling out efforts from Andre Ayew and a Harry Kane own goal.

Swansea had earned just one point from their previous three Premier League outings, and Monk says that holding in-form Spurs to a draw represents progress.

"We wanted to get back on track and the players were excellent," he told a post-match press conference. "We have had a couple of performances below our standard, but we were back at it.

"You could see the passion, the desire to win that game was massive."

Monk's men, who sit 11th in the table, have not won a game in any competition since beating Manchester United in August.
