Francesco Guidolin still unsure of Swansea City future

Swansea boss Francesco Guidolin reiterates his desire to stay at the club beyond the end of the current season, but admits that he is still in the dark over his future.

Swansea City manager Francesco Guidolin has admitted that he is still in the dark regarding his future at the Liberty Stadium.

The veteran Italian was confirmed as boss when Swansea were in the relegation zone, but today mathematically secured Premier League survival for the club with a 3-1 win over Liverpool.

Guidolin has made no secret of his desire to stay at the club beyond the end of his current deal, which expires this summer, but chairman Huw Jenkins is still expected to look elsewhere.

"I am happy we are safe. To have 40 points with five games to go was important, now we have 43 so this is not the worst season Swansea have had in the Premier League," Guidolin told reporters.

"I have done my job very well, I am proud as this is my first time in the Premier League and it was not an easy season for Swansea. I say many times I want to stay and the chairman knows that.

"We have spoken about next season, but I do not know if I will be here. It is not my decision. I am waiting. If it is yes, I am happy. If it is a no, I have a holiday for a long time."

Brendan Rodgers is currently the bookies' favourite to return to the Liberty Stadium.
