Swansea City boss Garry Monk close to agreeing new deal?

Swansea City boss Garry Monk is on the verge of signing a new long-term deal with the club, according to a report.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk is reportedly close to signing a new deal with the club.

The 36-year-old guided the Swans to their highest-ever Premier League finish of eighth last season in his first full campaign at the helm.

Monk's existing deal, which was signed when he took the manager's job on a permanent basis in May 2014, has two years left to run.

According to the South Wales Evening Post, Monk will soon pen a new three-year contract, which will keep him at the Liberty Stadium until the summer of 2018.

Monk has been with Swansea in either a player or manager capacity since 2003.
