Nathan Dyer: 'Break will help Swansea City'

Swansea City winger Nathan Dyer believes that the team are getting a break from the Premier League at "the right time".

Nathan Dyer has said that not playing this weekend will help Swansea City as they look to secure their Premier League status.

The Welsh side played seven matches in three competitions in February, which saw them exit the FA Cup and Europa League.

The winger told the club's website: "Since [Garry] Monk has taken over, it's been game after game, weekday and then a weekend. We benefit from that intensity, but now we have a chance to relax before we get ready for the game against West Brom.

"For us, this break has come at the right time. It's about making sure that everyone comes back fit. A lot of people have been ill as well, so it gives them a chance to fully recover too.

"It was great to challenge ourselves against opposition in Europe, and now we have to make sure we get the right results in the league to cement our place in the top flight next season."

Swansea had originally been due to play Arsenal this weekend, but that fixture was moved because of the Gunners' involvement in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
