Swansea City have announced that Leon Britton will take charge of the team until the club appoint a permanent manager.

The 35-year-old, who has represented the Welsh outfit for 15 years across two spells, took on a new player-coaching role last month.

Following Paul Clement's dismissal as manager on Wednesday night, Britton has been called up as caretaker boss.

The midfielder took training this morning and will be the man in the dugout for Saturday's Premier League match against Crystal Palace at the Liberty Stadium.

Under-23s coaches Gary Richards and Cameron Toshack will work as Britton's assistants during the interim period.
