Sam Allardyce angry at Sunderland fixture change

Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce criticises the Premier League for its decision to move his side's January meeting with Swansea City back 24 hours.

Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce has hit out at the Premier League for moving his side's meeting with Swansea City back 24 hours.

The Black Cats were initially scheduled to make the trip to South Wales on Tuesday, January 12, but will instead face the Swans a day later in the second of three consecutive away matches.

Allardyce's side face journeys to North London either side of that game, taking on Arsenal in the FA Cup and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, meaning that they will cover 1,784 miles in just seven days.

"It's hugely disappointing, but I'll cover that when we get nearer the game," he told reporters.

"I will produce the evidence on why [Premier League chairman] Richard Scudamore and the board were totally wrong in this decision, and I mean totally wrong."

Sunderland currently sit 19th in the Premier League table ahead of their Boxing Day meeting with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
