Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill is confident that striker Steven Fletcher will prove to be a success at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats completed the signing of the 25-year-old from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a four-year contract on Friday.

"I think Steven will be terrific for us," said O'Neill. "He's underrated, but not by me.

"I think he's capable of scoring goals and linking play which is very important to us, and I think at 25 years of age he's got room to improve and get better.

"I'm delighted to have him for the next few seasons."

Fletcher scored 22 goals in 61 Premier League appearances for Wolves.
