Half-Time Report: Fulham in front against Sunderland

Hugo Rodallega fires Fulham ahead in their FA Cup fourth-round replay against Sunderland at Craven Cottage.

Steven Fletcher tried to set up an early chance for the visitors, but his cross in towards Emanuele Giaccherini was cleared before it met its target.

Marcus Bettinelli came under pressure in the Fulham goal as Ricardo Alvarez rounded a couple of defenders before testing the keeper with a low effort, while Jordi Gomez forced a save moments later after Fletcher played the ball back in.

The Championship side started to see more of the ball as the half-hour mark approached, and they broke the deadlock when Sunderland failed to clear a corner, allowing Rodallega to force it over from close range.

Ross McCormack wanted a penalty shortly after as Fulham pushed for a second, but the referee was not persuaded by the home side's shouts.

Alvarez tried to create an equaliser for the Premier League side shortly before the interval, but the Spaniard's half-volley was just high.
