Stoke City boss Gary Rowett is confident that Jack Butland will still be at the club beyond the end of the summer transfer window.
Butland has been linked with a move away from the Potters since their relegation to the Championship was confirmed at the end of last season.
Chelsea have been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old, but Rowett does not believe that the England goalkeeper will depart the club ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
"If the unthinkable happens and Jack ends up leaving, which I don't want to happen, we would replace him with a top-quality goalkeeper ourselves," Rowett told reporters.
"Unless a top club comes in with a top bid, I don't think Jack would see anything else as a good alternative. If we get to the last few days of the window, it wouldn't be something we would entertain."
Butland is due to link up with his teammates on Friday afternoon following a holiday in Los Angeles.
