IFK Gothenburg striker Gustav Engvall will spend two days training with Stoke City this week in a bid to win a contract with the Premier League outfit.
The 19-year-old had been expected to link up with the Potters before Christmas with a view to joining in January, but the two clubs could not come to an agreement.
The Swedish international will undergo a trial with Mark Hughes's side this week, however, and the teenager has revealed that he is relishing the chance to impress.
"I see it as an opportunity to see how it works in an English big club. It's exciting to test their environment," the Stoke Sentinel quotes Engvall as saying.
Sweden's top league, the Allsvenskan, does not kick off until later this month.
