Stoke City defender Marc Wilson has confirmed that he suffered a broken fibula during Saturday's 0-0 draw against Sunderland.

Wilson was injured while making a challenge on Black Cats striker Steven Fletcher in the goalless draw at the Britannia Stadium.

The Republic of Ireland international revealed on Twitter that he has broken his leg but insisted that he is focused on making a full recovery.

He tweeted: "Thanks again every1 for the support. Really appreciate it. Have broke my fibula.

"Hopefully I can make a speedy recovery. Fingers crossed."

The 25-year-old is the only recognised left-back in Tony Pulis's 25-man Premier League squad.
