Tony Pulis leaving Stoke City?

Rumours gather pace this afternoon that Tony Pulis is to step down as manager of Stoke City.

Tony Pulis has reportedly decided to call time on his stint as manager of Stoke City.

The 55-year-old took charge of the Potters for a second time in 2006 and two years later he guided them to the top flight, where they have remained ever since.

However, during the most recent campaign, the team were dragged into relegation trouble, which resulted in certain sections of the Britannia Stadium faithful openly criticising Pulis and his style of football.

Having managed to keep the club in the Premier League for another season, the Welshman has now concluded that he cannot take the Staffordshire-based outfit any further, according to The Telegraph.

Bookmaker William Hill has responded to the report by suspending betting on Pulis being the next Premier League manager to leave his club.

"We have seen a four-figure gamble in the space of an hour and have had to whip the market down while we catch our breath," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

"The number of managers that have left their clubs in recent weeks has been extraordinary and it looks like we could have another on his way shortly."

As yet, there has been no official confirmation from either Pulis or Stoke.
