Stoke decide against appealing Andy Wilkinson's three-match ban for violent conduct following his elbow on Mario Balotelli.

Andy Wilkinson will serve a three-match suspension after Stoke City decided not to appeal the red card he received against Manchester City on Saturday.

The full-back was dismissed for violent conduct during the 1-1 draw at the Britannia Stadium after he caught Mario Balotelli in the face with his arm.

Referee Mark Clattenburg failed to spot the incident but video evidence seen later suggested that Wilkinson deliberately elbowed the Italian striker.

Potter boss Tony Pulis has opted against appealing the charge, meaning that Wilkinson will miss the clashes with Chelsea, Swansea City and Liverpool.
