Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has challenged his team to respond to the 4-0 loss to Everton on Saturday in an attempt to spark another strong run of form.
The Potters slumped to a heavy defeat at Goodison Park at the weekend, bringing an end to a four-game unbeaten streak for Hughes's men.
Cardiff City travel to the Britannia Stadium on Wednesday and the former Fulham boss is keen for his team to bounce back to winning ways.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Hughes said: "Everton were better than us and deserved to win but the scoreline didn't make great reading. We'll get a response.
"We had four games unbeaten and the onus on us now is to go on another run, continue to be strong at home.
"Cardiff are a hard-working side; we will have to match that, given we're the home side. If we do that, we can take it away from them."
Tomorrow's clash is scheduled to kick off at 7.45pm.
