Team News: Jack Butland and Robert Huth given Stoke City starts

Jack Butland and Robert Huth are handed rare starts for Stoke's FA Cup third-round match against Conference Premier outfit Wrexham at the Britannia Stadium.

Mark Hughes has handed rare starts to Jack Butland and Robert Huth for Stoke City's FA Cup third-round visit of non-league Wrexham this afternoon.

It is the first time this season that the pair have started games outside of the Capital One Cup, with Butland understudy to Asmir Begovic and Huth struggling to regain his place after long-term injury.

Summer signings Phil Bardsley and Steve Sidwell return from spells on the sidelines to be named in a Potters side which also includes recalled trio Charlie Adam, Oussama Assaidi and Marc Wilson.

Captain Ryan Shawcross maintains his ever-present record this season, but Steven N'Zonzi, Jonathan Walters, Erik Pieters and Peter Crouch are among those rested, while a hamstring strain rules out Bojan.

The Conference Premier visitors to the Britannia Stadium make three changes as Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Jonathan Flatt returns in goal. Wes York and Jonny Hunt also come into the lineup.

Stoke: Butland; Bardsley, Shawcross, Huth, Wilson; Cameron, Sidwell; Arnautovic, Adam, Assaidi; Diouf
Subs: Sorensen, Pieters, Whelan, Ireland, Walters, Crouch, Shenton

Wrexham: Flatt; Pearson, M.Smith, Hudson, Ashton; Carrington, Harris, Hunt, Evans; Jennings, York
Subs: Coughlin, Clarke, Durrell, Moult, Bishop, Tomassen, White
