St Mirren deny Partick Thistle

St Mirren come from behind to hold Partick Thistle to a 1-1 draw at Firhill Park in the Scottish Premiership.

St Mirren have come from behind to hold Partick Thistle to a 1-1 draw at Firhill Park in the Scottish Premiership tonight.

The hosts drew first blood by taking the lead on 25 minutes through Kris Doolan, who rose highest to head home a Kallum Higginbotham cross past goalkeeper Christopher Dilo.

Doolan could have bagged his brace five minutes later but failed to guide an Aaron Taylor-Sinclair pass the right side of the post.

Alan Archibald's side were denied a half-time lead, though, as Kenny McLean stroked home a penalty moments before the break to restore parity.

Both sides were unfortunate not to take the lead in the final 10 minutes, as McLean fired against the post from inside the area, while Dilo tipped Lyle Taylor's effort against the bar.

It proved the last action of the game as both outfits settled for a share of the spoils.
