Half-Time Report: Stevie May strike gives St Johnstone hope

Stevie May levels up St Johnstone's third-round Europa League qualifier with Spartak Trnava by firing the Saints ahead on the night.

Stevie May has fired St Johnstone into a 1-0 half-time lead over Spartak Trnava in the second leg of their third-round Europa League qualifier.

The Saints, who still trail their Slovakian counterparts on away goals following last week's 2-1 defeat in Scotland, started the better of both sides and nearly went ahead on 17 minutes.

Tommy Wright's side came within inches of edging into a deserved lead when May saw his goal-bound effort tipped wide by goalkeeper Dobrivoj Rusov.

However, the 21-year-old would not be denied a second time, curling home from outside the box to level up the tie five minutes before the interval.
