Tottenham Hotspur's Kyle Walker "gutted" not to be going to Brazil World Cup with England

Kyle Walker admits that he is "gutted" not to be going to the World Cup with England, but also understands Roy Hodgson's decision to leave him out.

Kyle Walker has admitted that he is "gutted" not to be going to the World Cup with England this summer.

The Tottenham Hotspur defender, who is struggling with a pelvic injury, said that he understands Roy Hodgson's decision to not take him to Brazil.

"Gutted to miss the World Cup because of my injury," said the right-back on Twitter. "I'm still a few weeks away from being fit so I understand why the gaffer has left me out.

"We're taking a strong group of players to Brazil. All the best boys, I'll be supporting you!"

Had the 23-year-old been fit, he may have been the starting right-back ahead of Liverpool's Glen Johnson.
