Hamburg coach Thorsten Fink has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rafael van der Vaart would be the perfect fit for the German outfit.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane this summer, and after a proposed move to Schalke 04 reportedly fell through, a switch to Hamburg could be on the cards.
"We have drawn up a target profile and Rafael van der Vaart would be an ideal fit," said Fink. "Any coach would be delighted to have him. Rafael is a very good player and he would be very interesting for Hamburg if we had the money to pay for him."
Recent reports have also claimed that the Dutchman is considering a transfer to the United Arab Emirates.
