Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to battle the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United for the signature of Barcelona defender Jordi Alba in this summer's transfer window.
Alba, 29, will see his current deal at Camp Nou expire in the summer of 2020, and it is understood that talks over an extension have not yet begun, which has led to frustration.
According to AS, Alba has a £52.5m release clause in his current deal, and Tottenham are considering an approach as they prepare for the expected exit of England defender Danny Rose.
Alba, who is currently with the Spain squad at the 2018 World Cup, joined Barcelona from Valencia in 2012, and has made more than 240 appearances for the Catalan giants.
Last season, the left-back contributed 12 assists and three goals in 48 appearances in all competitions.
