Tottenham Hotspur 'unlikely to spend big this summer'

Tottenham Hotspur could have to sell before they can buy in this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly have to sell before they can buy in this summer's transfer window and are unlikely to have a vast transfer kitty ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Spurs are still paying off their new stadium, meaning that the financial impact of the coronavirus outbreak is expected to cause the club a number of problems.

A recent report claimed that the capital side could hand head coach Jose Mourinho as much as £135m to overhaul the squad during this summer's transfer window.

However, according to Football Insider, Mourinho is not expected to have big money to spend ahead of next season, while the club are 'likely' to need to sell players before they can buy.

Both Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele have been linked with moves away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in recent weeks, although it appears unlikely that the club will sanction exits for either player.

Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser has allegedly been identified as a possible arrival, meanwhile, and the Scotland international is said to be open to the idea of moving to Spurs on a free transfer.
