Real Sociedad reportedly inform Tottenham Hotspur that they need to increase their offer for striker Willian Jose.
Earlier this week, it was suggested that the Premier League outfit had switched their search for a new attacker to the 28-year-old, who has netted eight times from 20 games in La Liga this season.
However, according to ESPN, a deal is unlikely to materialise unless a compromise can be reached between the clubs regarding a fee.
While the Brazilian has a €70m (£58.83m) release clause, Spurs are pushing to complete a deal for at least half that figure.
Although Willian Jose is keen on securing a switch to North London, it is suggested that Spurs may have to pay in excess of €30m (£25.21m) to get the transfer over the line.
The deal could be partly funded by the exit of Christian Eriksen, who is said to be close to signing for Inter Milan.
