Tottenham to use Kyle Walker-Peters as part of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg deal?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering using Kyle Walker-Peters, who is currently on loan at Southampton, as a makeweight in any deal for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly use full-back Kyle Walker-Peters as part of any deal to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton this summer.

Spurs have made the former Saints skipper one of their number one transfer targets for when the window opens, and the player himself has made no secret of his desire to move to a bigger club.

However, Southampton's asking price for the 24-year-old is proving problematic for Spurs, despite Hojbjerg's contract running out in 2021.

Tottenham are keen to drive the fee down as much as possible due to the financial effect of the coronavirus lockdown, and football.london reports that they could use Walker-Peters as a makeweight in the deal to help with that.

Walker-Peters is currently on loan at Southampton from Tottenham, but has made only two Premier League starts and four appearances overall since joining the club in January.

The Saints could be in the market for a new right-back having sold Cedric Soares to Arsenal on a permanent basis, though, with Yan Valery their only other option in that position at the moment.
