Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prepared to hand Jan Vertonghen a new contract.
The Belgium international's current deal at White Hart Lane is not due to expire until the summer of 2016, but Spurs are said to be keen to tie him down to extended terms amid speculation that a number of European clubs are preparing bids for his services.
In an attempt to keep the 26-year-old out of the clutches of their rivals, they will offer Vertonghen terms worth around £60,000 a week, according to the London Evening Standard.
Barcelona are believed to be among the teams who have monitored the former Ajax defender's situation.
