Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly 'very hopeful' that Son Heung-min will be at the club next summer, despite Harry Kane's expected departure.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly increasingly confident that Son Heung-min will soon commit his future to the club.

The South Korea captain formed a deadly double act with Harry Kane in the 2020-21 season, but his teammate's future is shrouded in uncertainty after he supposedly informed the club of his desire to leave.

Negotiations over a new deal for Son are believed to have been ongoing since Jose Mourinho was in control of the reins, although he is not due to become a free agent until the summer of 2023.

Now, Football Insider claims that Spurs do not expect the 28-year-old to follow Kane out the exit door, and a new five-year deal is on the table ahead of the new season.

The report adds that Son can expect to pocket £200k per week should he pen fresh terms, and Tottenham are 'very hopeful' that Kane's future will not affect his teammate's decision to stay on.

Son scored 17 goals and assisted 10 more in 37 Premier League appearances in the 2020-21 campaign, and he has amassed 107 goals and 64 assists in 280 appearances for Spurs in total.
