New Tottenham Hotspur signing Gylfi Sigurdsson believes that losing Luka Modric to Real Madrid won't be as disastrous for the club as some are speculating.
Modric has been linked with a move to the Spanish giants all summer, but Sigurdsson has claimed that Spurs are a big enough club to be able to replace the Croatian without too much trouble.
"Will Tottenham still compete and do well even if Modric leaves? Yes," the Evening Standard quotes Sigurdsson as saying.
"Tottenham is such a big club that I think even though a top player like Luka might leave they will probably bring someone in."
The Icelandic international joined Spurs from Hoffenheim two weeks ago.
