MK Dons boss Karl Robinson admits that he wants to sign Tottenham midfielder David Bentley.

Milton Keynes Dons boss Karl Robinson has revealed that he wants to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder David Bentley.

Bentley, 27, has not played for Spurs since November 2010 and spent a period on loan at West Ham United earlier in the season.

"David is a friend of mine. He needs to play football and would be perfect for us. He knows where I am. We are only 40 minutes from where he lives and we both have the same agent," Robinson told The Sun.

"But I've got to be realistic. It might be something we can pull off and I'll definitely ask the question should it come up."

Bentley has recently been linked with a move to MLS.
