Paris Saint-Germain confirm Benjamin Stambouli arrival on five-year deal

Paris Saint-Germain announce that they have secured the signing of Benjamin Stambouli from Tottenham Hotspur on a five-year deal.

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that they have completed the signing of midfielder Benjamin Stambouli on a five-year deal from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 24-year-old only joined Spurs last year from Montpellier, but he has now returned to Ligue 1 after the French champions agreed an €8m (£5.6m) fee with Mauricio Pochettino's men for the transfer.

Stambouli told the club's official website: I am delighted and very proud to become a member of the Paris Saint-Germain family.

"I wasn't necessarily planning to leave the Premier League after one year but when a club with the dimension of Paris Saint-Germain calls you, it makes your choice a lot easier.

"That's the moment when you can experience the power of attraction surrounding this club. I will now focus on my preparation."

Stambouli made 25 appearances for Spurs last season, scoring one goal.
