Manchester City weigh up a swoop for Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski as an alternative to Harry Kane, according to a report.

Manchester City are keeping tabs on Robert Lewandowski as they seek out alternatives to Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, according to a report.

City have supposedly identified Kane as their leading centre-forward target this summer, but Daniel Levy is driving a hard bargain for the England skipper.

Pep Guardiola's side are thought to have had a £100m bid for the striker rejected by Spurs, although a recent report claimed that the Premier League champions may be willing to go as high as £150m.

However, should City ultimately be priced out of a move for Kane, the Daily Mail claims that they could make an attempt to prise Lewandowski away from Bayern Munich.

The 32-year-old has previously refused to rule out a move away from the serial Bundesliga winners, but City may have to rival Real Madrid for his signature.

Lewandowski's existing Bayern deal only runs for another two years, and he scored a staggering 48 goals in 40 appearances across all tournaments last term.
