Real Madrid 'to use Gareth Bale to sign Christian Eriksen'

Real Madrid will use Gareth Bale in a bid to land Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen this summer, according to a report.

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to allow Gareth Bale to return to Tottenham Hotspur in order to land Christian Eriksen from the London club in this summer's transfer window.

Eriksen will see his current deal with Spurs expire in the summer of 2020, and it is widely thought that the Denmark international will seek pastures new at the end of the season.

Madrid, meanwhile, are believed to be keen to sell Bale this summer, with the Welshman struggling for performances throughout the 2018-19 campaign.

Indeed, the 29-year-old continues to cut an isolated figure at the Bernabeu and was substituted in the 61st minute of Madrid's 1-0 defeat to Barcelona on Saturday night.

According to The Mirror, Los Blancos 'are ready to use Bale as bait' to sign Eriksen, who has scored seven times and contributed 12 assists in 36 appearances for Spurs this season.

Manchester United are also believed to be long-term admirers of both Bale and Eriksen.
