Adam Johnson is reportedly on the verge of signing for Sunderland in a move worth an estimated £10m.
The 25-year-old has struggled for regular football at Premier League champions Manchester City and despite signing a new five-year deal at the Etihad earlier this year, could be on his way to Wearside.
According to Sky Sports News, Sunderland are the early frontrunners for the England winger's signature, with Everton and Tottenham Hotspur also interested.
Speaking about his relationship with City manager Roberto Mancini recently, Johnson said: "There's been no bust-up. But I think what happened to me at City last season was why I missed out at the Euros."
Mancini is said to have targeted Swansea City's Scott Sinclair as a replacement.
