Tottenham Hotspur reportedly take a specific stance regarding Ange Postecoglou's future amid the club's recent poor form.

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly make a decision over the immediate future of head coach Ange Postecoglou.

Last month, Spurs produced arguably the standout performance of the current Premier League campaign as they thrashed champions Manchester City by a 4-0 scoreline.

Since then, though, the North Londoners have put together a four-game winless streak in all competitions, in particular impacting on their position in the Premier League table.

Spurs let slip a two-goal lead to lose 4-3 at home to Chelsea on Sunday evening, leading to further speculation regarding the Greek-Australian's future.

According to Sky Sports News, Spurs have already decided whether they have any intention of making a change in the dugout.

Postecoglou position remains safe

Chairman Daniel Levy allegedly has no plans to part ways with Postecoglou in the short term as he continues to possess a strong working relationship with the 59-year-old.

The report suggests that Levy is of the opinion that injuries to the likes of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have negatively influenced Spurs' results.

Furthermore, it is claimed that Postecoglou has already been involved in meetings with the club's powers-that-be over how to strengthen the squad in January.

A new defender is expected to be on the agenda with Ben Davies also expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the year with a hamstring injury.

Alternatives waiting in the wings?

Ipswich Town head coach Kieran McKenna has reportedly been identified as the preferred alternative to Postecoglou should Spurs take a change in stance.

That said, it should not be viewed as a foregone conclusion that any approach would be successful with the Northern Irishman holding a contract until 2028.

As it stands, Spurs sit in 11th position in the Premier League table having already lost seven of their 15 matches during 2024-25.

Despite the pull of managing a club of Spurs' size, their inconsistency in the long term under various managers may put off McKenna or an alternative if they are in other jobs.
