Jan Vertonghen: 'We're happy playing under Tim Sherwood'

Jan Vertonghen believes that everyone at Tottenham Hotspur is enjoying work under Tim Sherwood.

Jan Vertonghen has claimed that the entire Tottenham Hotspur squad is happy playing under head coach Tim Sherwood.

The Belgian made his first appearance since Andre Villas-Boas was sacked when he started the 1-1 draw with Hull City on Saturday, and he believes that Sherwood has quickly connected with the squad.

"It's always sad when you have to change manager," he told the Tottenham Journal. "Andre did well. He was unlucky at some moments.

"I think Tim is doing very well. He feels the connection with the players and everyone is happy with him.

"Every manager has his own thing. Tim is maybe a little bit more direct. You never know what the best thing is for the team so I think this is working out quite well."

Spurs are currently sixth in the Premier League.
