A number of Tottenham Hotspur players are reportedly angry with Mauricio Pochettino after their manager suggested that some of his squad 'have different agendas'.

A number of Tottenham Hotspur players have reportedly been left infuriated with Mauricio Pochettino in the aftermath of the EFL Cup defeat at Colchester United.

In the hours after the Premier League giants succumbed on penalties, Pochettino put down their latest below-par performance to some of his first-team squad 'having different agendas'.

However, according to The Sun, there are those behind the scenes who feel that it is Pochettino who is working with that particular mindset.

A source is quoted as saying: "They feel Poch is the one with an agenda. They are not impressed with him at all and what he said has not helped at all."

Spurs had been allegedly willing to part ways with the likes of Danny Rose and Christian Eriksen during the summer, only for the pair to fail to secure transfers away from the North London outfit.

Jan Vertonghen also made the headlines during the opening weeks of the season after he was surprisingly dropped from the squad for the opening fixture against Aston Villa.

Spurs have won just two of their eight matches in all competitions since the beginning of the season.
