Tottenham Hotspur: 'No takeover talks with US company Cain Hoy Enterprises'

Tottenham Hotspur insist that they are not in talks with US company Cain Hoy regarding a possible takeover.

Tottenham Hotspur have reiterated that they are not in talks with any potential buyers regarding a takeover.

Earlier today, US company Cain Hoy Enterprises revealed that they are in the "preliminary stages" of considering a cash offer for the Premier League club.

The news comes after reports emerged claiming that current Spurs owner Joe Lewis has placed a £1 billion price tag on the North London outfit.

While Tottenham have insisted that they are not in talks with Cain Hoy regarding a takeover, the club have revealed that they have met with the company's representatives in relation to financial support for their new stadium.

A statement on the club's official website said: "In response to the continued Tottenham Hotspur Limited ("THFC") notes the continuing press reports surrounding a potential takeover and the announcement released by Cain Hoy Enterprises, LLC ("Cain Hoy"). THFC confirms it is not in takeover discussions with Cain Hoy or any other party.

"As stated in yesterday's announcement regarding the new stadium project, THFC has been in discussions with multiple providers of finance so that the optimum financing package for the project can be achieved and, in the course of those considerations, has met representatives of Cain Hoy.

"However, there are no ongoing discussions with Cain Hoy. The club is focused on the new stadium development and the season ahead."

Manager Mauricio Pochettino stated this week that a temporary groundshare with MK Dons is a possibility while they wait for their new ground to be constructed.
